You Can Be In the Band!

The John Lennon Bus is coming to the NMC 2008 Summer Conference! And for registered conference participants with an interest music video production, we offered this special opportunity to be one of six-eight people who get to experience a one day Lennon Bus experience.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a non-profit 501(c)(3) mobile audio and HD video recording and production facility. Since 1998, the Bus has provided free hands-on programs to hundreds of high schools, colleges, Boys and Girls Clubs, music festivals, concerts, conventions and community organizations. Working together with some of the biggest names in music, the Lennon Bus encourages students to play music, write songs, engineer recording sessions and produce video projects using the latest audio, video, and live sound equipment.
The interior is divided into three separate studio environments that can be opened to create one large studio. The front studio is a cutting-edge audio and video production room. The rear studio offers pro-level recording and mixing at the highest possible resolution, as well as an iso booth for acoustic recordings, and a chromate (green screen) booth. Powered by Apple computers, the studios feature traditional musical instruments and the latest Sony HD products and solutions. Also on-board is a Mackie P.A. system enabling performances on the side of the Bus.
1 Day Music Video Production
The Lennon Bus and staff provide opportunities for 6-8 conference attendees to create and produce original songs and video projects. Conference attendees write the music and lyrics to a song, record it, mix it, shoot video, and produce a music video of their work.

Here is how it worked. People signed up below under the music area where they best wished to offer your skills (people could only enter once!). On Friday, June 6, we held a drawing to determine which of the people below get to "go on the bus". We have been re-assured by the creative people that work on the bus that you do not have to be a professional to record - in fact, "you do not have to be a professional musician to participate." You just need the desire to be part of the band. And the bus has all the musical instruments you will need.

You will need to be able to participate in the band on Wednesday, June 11 from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm.

So if you want to be in the band, edit this wiki page and add you name once to the area below that matches your musical dream. Numbers in parentheses are the number of slots. This wiki is open, and will be monitored, so any shenanigans (stuffing the votes, removing others, etc) will count against you! Play fair, have fun, and get in the band!
