NMC Taxonomy
From NMC Wiki
Drupal's formal taxonomy affords any content- blog post, discussion board comment, media, aggregated feed to be "tagged" with one or many descriptors that allows a content piece to be associated into multiple formats or displays. It is less of a pigeoon hole concept, but something could be associated as a Project descriptor "pachyderm") as well as an event "conference". Or an mp3 file may be included as a project podcast but also associated with a media taxonomy that allows it to be browsed as part of all media.
Below is a first attempt to outline a possible NMC 2.0 taxonomy, with the top level "vocabularies" being ones that could be used as large scale navigation categories.
